I’m pass the emotional need to “read” text. text is easy and convenient but I don’t play text games. I already know how hard it is to read tone in text so if I send a text it’s genuine. If I’m mad, I don’t expect them to read into it because I’ll get over it.

Yesterday this guy told me he was mad because “didn’t you see I sent short text messages.”

Well I said, “sorry I don’t read into text messages and if you were mad you could just straight up tell me.” Mind you I’m just his friend and we don’t have that level of relationship where I will care enough to read if he’s emotionally mad… If people are going to get mad at other people for not being able to read their emotions within a text, then people gotta stop texting. Useless rant but for reals…

In summer, my students get the special opportunity to have a week long special class with me. We mainly do a little bit of English learning and more activities like games and cooking. Today I should finalize who can join. I’m supposed to weed out the students who have done it a few times already… soooooo sadly I have to turn down some of my liked and well behaved students. So hard because I shouldn’t choose favs and everyone should get an opportunity, but all a teacher wants is a well behaved class. Good bye my good students who always help me and focus during class. I will make sure you make it into my winter session… 😓

So a student who recently moved away found my instagram account. I was shocked she found it and also not too fond of it. My instagram is more of my show off social outlet where it’s less personal and more for visuals.

For example I post food, the exciting things I do, and promote my YouTube on it. I don’t mind if my students add my Facebook once I’m done teaching them, but to add my instagram? They’re just too young.

So I told my co-worker this when we went to dinner last night. He totally freaked out and he told me we have to block all of our students in which I agreed. I shared his old students ID with him and we started blocking students we recognized from their followers. Then he asked to block me and for me to block him for science. Haha, so now I feel confident little 6th graders won’t be finding my instagram… hopefully.
